Fortune Hill
Fortune Hill is a game from Playtech that has gotten quite a bit of attention from their developers, with the graphics being one of its biggest advantages as a result. You will find the theme to be based on a story that involves leprechauns, fairies, wizards and trolls. It makes for a very fun slot to play and a pleasant looking design, which allows you to see a very big part of the background image, with its green meadows, the leprechaun’s house, rivers and moats. If the design is not enough to convince you, there are always some decent features offered, the free games and scatters among them, plus a wild symbol on top of that and some bonus games.
Graphics & Theme
Fortune Hill takes us in the middle of a story that has some Irish inspiration behind it, with a leprechaun being the main character here, with hidden treasures being involved and with wizards and trolls, typical fantasy inspired characters. You will find out what it’s all about in the intro movie, with the troll being the bad guys that’s trying to steal the treasure, while the leprechaun prevents it. The design is beautiful and very nature focused, the view with the green hills and the mountains being a big part of the experience. There is also a wheel of fortune that’s shaped like a water wheel, on the right side of the reels. Speaking of the reels, these are completely transparent and they have vines that are used as borders between them.
Special Effects
Though there are more than a few features in this game, the one that got our attention is a wheel of fortune type of game, that’s not too often seen in slots like these. The Fortune Wheel, as it is called, will give the player an extra chance at some kind of bonus, but that prize is not guaranteed during a round. The prizes that can be won here include multipliers (2x, 3x or 4x), wizard respins, cash prizes and fantastic fairy features.
The Free Games scatter symbol has a rainbow going over it and it is allowed to appear on the reels 1, 3 and 5. Get all three during a round and you get the Rainbow free spins. A total of 8 free spins can be won this way and they benefit from the presence of whatever multiplier you might’ve already had during the base game (through the Fortune Wheel).
The Magic Mushroom symbol is the bonus round’s trigger, appearing on two reels out of five (1 and 5). As is often the case, both reels need to have bonus symbols on them, in order for the bonus game to start. You get a screen, where there are about a dozen mushrooms in the ground and you have to keep picking until you get the Collect sign.
Finally, the wild symbol uses the image of the wizard with a purple hat, prepared to do battle against the troll. Besides its basic substitution powers, the wild will give you payouts if you get two to five symbols on a line.
Overall
I’d recommend this game to you if you don’t have an issue with Irish themed slots that focus on treasures. It’s a common theme in slot machines, but a fun one.
