Fruit Mania is a Playtech design that tries to bring as much fruit classic action into a modern 5 reel game as possible. It’s not that modern of a game though, with only 5 paylines used inside and with the features being limited to the scatter symbol and its free spins. A progressive jackpot is added to that mix, so there are some things that are worth going after in this slot machine. The design is fruit based, as the name suggests, with the mania part being all about the explosion of fruit related imagery that you will find inside.

Graphics & Theme

With Fruit Mania, the design tries to bring you all kinds of images that are fruit related in some way. The background image is a photo of a cornucopia of different types of fruit, with the logo at the top, mixing in green apples, strawberries and orange slices. Even the logo is multi colored, resembling some sort of exotic fruit mix. The symbols are found in the game and they are mostly designed the way stock cartoon pictures would be. They will represent the fruit they’re supposed to, and they will do it well, but it’ not a masterpiece you will find there. The fruits themselves look pretty good, including on the game’s reels cherries, plums, apricots, grapes, green apples, strawberries and lemons. There are two symbols that are different here, one of them being a cocktail glass, the other being the Sun. Both of them are special feature symbols, hence the reason for them being different.

Special Effects

The Sun symbol is actually a character, so he has eyes and a mouth, looking down at us with some sort of evil grin on its face. This symbol triggers a bonus game, but it has to be present with at least three icons on a payline, starting from the 1st reel.

The second feature that they’ve included here is the cocktail glass, with some sort of pink liquid inside, with a straw and a lemon wedge on the glass. The scatter’s role is to offer payouts here, and they do look pretty good. You can get up to 500 times what the round’s wager was, simply for getting five cocktail drink symbols during the same spin.

The progressive jackpot can be won with the same symbol that awards the big prize of the game, the cherry. The difference is that you need the combo of five cherries to appear on the 5th payline, while the other lines will award only 5000 coins.

Overall

The game has plenty to offer, despite the rather average design and choice of theme. It makes for a pleasant experience, with some average features and a progressive jackpot.
