Graphics & Theme

If there is one thing that Funky Monkey does well, it would be the graphics part. As many other classic games do, it takes the form of a real slot machine, with a shiny exterior, with buttons you can push and with an arm on the side that you would use to spin the reels. The graphics are very good, unlike its many competitors which manage to offer an 80’s quality in a game played in the 21st century. Look above the reels, and you will find the funky monkey, with its gold chain around the neck and with pink sunglasses and clothes of the same color. It’s an interesting apparition, though my eyes quickly moved on to the paytable that’s sitting right next to it. The symbols that are found on it consist mostly of African themed stuff and maybe one or two things that are connected directly to the monkey. A bit of the classic element was kept also, mainly through the three Bar symbols (1Bar, 2Bar, 3Bar), which pay the least in this game. The rest of the symbols consist of bananas, pink sunglasses, a straw hut and a pair of bongos.

Special Effects

If you enjoy a good classic slot, and you’re just looking forward for some nice looking graphics but no features to complicate things, Funky Monkey should be on your list. It has no extra features to help out, but on the other hand that means fewer things to catch your attention. You will get a small bonus if you place a 3 coin wager, but other than that there isn’t anything else you should know. You can just head on to the game and start spinning those reels.

Overall

Funky Monkey is an interesting experience for someone that enjoys the classics. It doesn’t cross over into modern game territory, but it manages to remain a nice experience thanks to the graphics.
