Jackpot Darts is an interesting arcade game, not just because it was created by Playtech and it revolves around the game of darts, but also because it offers a progressive jackpot that you can potentially win, as long as you bet for it. Going in the past as high as $300,000, this jackpot should make the game a bit more popular, as it deserves.

Graphics & Theme

With the theme of the arcade game being the game of darts, you’re going to expect to find the dart board on the screen, and you’re not going to be disappointed. The dart board takes the central position on the screen, with a wooden wall behind it. On the left side there is the black board with the information on the darts thrown and other data on the current round. On the right side, you will notice the various types of wagers you can make, at least the main categories. It’s a decent looking game, not the worst arcade title I’ve ever seen.

Special Effects

The game consists of a round of darts, where the player chooses the wager(s) he wants to make, then clicks on Throw and there are three darts thrown towards the board by the computer. Depending on the outcome and the wager that was made, it can result in a payout for the player, or not. All the betting options are available on the right side of the screen, starting with the Jackpot, then continuing with Singles, Doubles, Trebles, Outer Bull, Inner Bull, Lo/Mid/Hi and 1-20 Singles.

Some of the betting options are self-explanatory, while others might be a challenge if you’re not a dart player yourself. Unfortunately, the game is of no much help here, as it doesn’t seem to offer any tips on what the wagers are about. To be on the safe side, you can place wagers on the total points being in a certain range, or them being in a certain area (inner vs outer). The odds can go as high as 125 to 1 (for betting on the inner bull), but they can be as small as 2 to 1.

Overall

The presence of the progressive jackpot adds a lot to the appeal of this game, which would’ve been an average arcade otherwise.
