The Mummy is the kind of game you will play if you enjoyed the movie it was based on, but which doesn’t really offer that much otherwise in terms of design. Graphics & Theme
The Mummy was a fairly popular movie about a decade ago, when it was released. The actors playing in it are not super stars, but many of them are fairly well known and the movie was an overall pleasant experience. The action takes place inside the pyramids of Egypt, where there are scarabs and mummies that are waking up, evil characters and all the other great ingredients of a good adventure movie. The game action takes place in the same spot, the inside of a pyramid. It’s a bit of a dark design, with shades of brown that could use a bit of light on them. As for the game symbols, these are either images of the actors in question, or with scarabs, books, statues of gods, revolvers, coffins, game logos and the mummy.
Special Effects
The mummy is not the prettiest symbol you will see in this game, but it is one of the more important. It can appear on the reels 2, 3 and 4, so it doesn’t have as much power as other wilds from similar games.
The scatter symbol is the second part of the feature list, offering some very good payouts when there are a couple of them present in various locations in the game. The payouts start small at 4x the bet when there are three scatters, then move on to 20x the bet for four scatters and finally to 150x the bet for five scatters.
An extra 8 types of features are available as well in this slot machine, but they are triggered at random. The player starts with just one feature, but he eventually gets access to all of them. Among these features you will find Scorpion Scatter, Scarab Attack, Expanding Mummy, Mummy Power, Collapsing Reels and Mummy Respin. Overall
Feature wise the game does very well by its players, but the same can’t be said about its design. Though not exactly ugly, it does not feel like a great looking slot. If that doesn’t bother you, give the slot a chance, it’s not a bad game to play.
