A 5 reel & 20 line game from Playtech, Wild Spirit is a game that approaches the Native American culture, and it does it in a way that I certainly appreciated. It’s got the right kind of design for a slot where you want to see as many traditional elements as possible and the symbols are chosen well also. The design doesn’t look modern, but it wouldn’t have looked proper in this case, so they’ve made the right choice. Features offered here will give the player wild symbols, a scatter, the free spins and multipliers, plus a $25,000 jackpot.
Graphics & Theme
The Wild Spirit’s theme is the Native American tribe, with its customs, ways of dressing, with its focus on the animal spirits and on their way of life. The drawing style of the people that appear in it, and of the objects and animals that are present as well, is the kind you might see in a comic book or some sort of illustration. It’s definitely not he kind of design you’re going to see in an animation movie. The focus is mostly on fire and on the color orange, visible at the top especially. It’s part of many of the symbols as well though. The playing cards are pieces of wood, cut into the right shapes and with various colors and pieces of fabric tied to them. The more important symbols are using the princess, the warrior, a horse, an eagle and the war drums.
Special Effects
The wild spirit that the game seems to be referring to is the wild horse, represented here by its own symbol. It’s a white horse, with mountains visible behind it and with the word Wild written below. Besides its role as a wild, this symbol can award prizes of its own, with the maximum amount being a multiple of the line wager of 5000x.
The princess is next on the list, used as a scatter but it’s not the one that gives out the free spins. Instead, it’s limited to offering only prizes, as multiples of the total bet (5x to 100x).
The one that gives the free spins is the warrior symbol, also a scatter but only appearing on reels 1 and 5. Getting the warrior on both reels is required in order for a bonus round to start out, where the player can win up to 27 free games and multipliers of up to 8x.
Overall
This isn’t the only Native American themed slot out there, but it’s one that I would recommend you try out. The pretty graphics, the complete list of features and the attention to detail shown by the developers all contribute and make out of it a good choice.
